The purpose of "Vitamin D" blood test is to check your levels of this substance inorder to correct its deficiency, insufficiency including if any vitamin D toxicity (excessive amounts of vitamin D) in the body.
The test, "Vitamin D Total" includes one parameter that is to measures the level of vitamin D in your blood to make sure you have enough for your body to work well.
This test may be ordered by your health care practitioner when he or she suspects that the below signs & symptoms might be the cause of vitamin D.
Signs and symptoms may include:
- Abnormal bone development
- Bone deformity
