This test measures calcium and creatinine levels in a random urine sample. Increased levels of calcium in the urine are typically associated with a condition known as Hypercalciuria. Hypercalciuria can be related to several health concerns. Some of the most common conditions associated with elevated urinary calcium levels are:
- Increased risk of developing kidney stones
- Prostate cancer
- Kidney disease
- Bone density disorders
- Excess calcium excretion in urine may be the result of a diet with too much sodium or an inherited genetic disorder.
