To diagnose the urinary tract infections.
Urine contains low levels of microbes, such as bacteria or yeasts, which move from the skin into the urinary tract and grow and multiply, causing a UTI.
Culture is the medical term for growing microorganisms (germs) from body fluids in a lab. Your healthcare provider will collect a sample of your pee and send it to the lab to be cultured.
A Urine Culture test by automated method is a test that detects and identifies bacterial or fungal(yeast) infections in urine which may be causing a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) and further aids your healthcare provider to know which antibiotics would work to kill the germs. This assists in determining the most effective treatment for UTI which is one of the most prevalent disease affecting people from all age groups.
Pregnant women without symptoms should be examined for bacteria in their urine during their first trimester or first prenatal appointment, as bacteria in the urine can harm the growing baby's health.
